lily white is a sub-unit of μ's, consisting of Umi Sonoda, Rin Hoshizora, and Nozomi Tojo. They debuted in July 2011 with the single Shiranai Love*Oshiete Love. Their style is inspired by traditional Shōwa-period idols.

The members in each of the three μ's sub-units were chosen from five options in a poll from Dengeki G's Magazine.

Etymology

The name lily white was chosen by staff from fan submissions. Other names that were submitted for the group include "Tennen Komachi" (天然小町, Natural Belle) and "Kachou Fuugetsu" (花鳥風月, Beauties of Nature).
