Aina Kusuda was initially interested in stage acting. During her junior high school years, she was deeply impressed by a stage performance featuring Kamiya Akira, which led her to believe that voice acting was beyond her reach and caused her to give up on the idea for a time. However, after seeing a performance by Takeuchi Junko in high school, she was inspired to pursue a career as a voice actress. Kusuda graduated from Yoyogi Animation Academy’s Tokyo campus.<br />

Kusuda made her voice acting debut in 2010 when she was cast as Tōjō Nozomi in the multimedia project ''Love Live!''. She has stated that she landed the role just a week after joining her agency, JTB Entertainment.<br />

After her debut, Kusuda took on minor roles in various anime and games, gradually building her portfolio. Following the μ's Final Live, she became more active as a stage actor.<br />
