Kotori Minami is a main character in Love Live. She was a second-year at Otonokizaka High School before graduating at the end of Love Live! The School Idol Movie. She is also known as "Legendary Maid Minalinsky" while working in Akihabara. She is the member of Printemps, a sub-unit under µ's. Her image color is white, through she is also represented with green or grey. Her solo album is called Kotori, Lovin' You.
Background
A second-year student at Otonokizaka Academy and a member of the school idol group 'μ's.'
She is childhood friends and close companions with Honoka Kosaka and Umi Sonoda, and in all media, she is one of the original members of μ's.
Her mother is the school's chairwoman.
Personality
Though not great at performing in front of others, she has a calm and gentle demeanor, often regarded as a natural, soothing presence by those around her.
She usually speaks in a feminine, neutral tone, but when addressing 'you' (the viewer), when angry, or during a speech, her speech pattern shifts to a more formal style.
Among the trio, she has the most gentle personality and has never fought with Honoka or Umi. She often mediates their frequent squabbles.
Maki Nishikino once referred to her as 'the most sensible second-year.'
She is indecisive and has a weak will but has a soft spot for cute things.
However, when it comes to costumes, her strong resolve shines through. She can be very efficient but undergoes a personality change, treating members like dress-up dolls and silently intimidating anyone who interrupts her work.
Clubs and Hobbies
She loves singing and dancing. Since childhood, she has enjoyed dressing up and cosplaying, often sneaking into her parents' wardrobe for fun. She's also skillful with her hands and frequently spends her free time creating embroidered mascots.
She had long wanted to make costumes, and even before Honoka invited her, she had been keeping up with school idol magazines. Her initial enthusiasm for school idol activities was partly driven by the opportunity to freely create costumes.
She's good at baking.
Appearance
Her signature side-tail hairstyle and her sweet, adorable voice—described as 'brain-meltingly cute' by her voice actress, Aya Uchida—are iconic.
Her image colors are white and gray, but because white is often used for costumes and merchandise backgrounds in group songs, light green is also utilized as her secondary color.

She started her school idol activities after Honoka told her that she could make lots of cute costumes.
SID
An only child.
She was born with a weak left knee and had surgery in her childhood . She was worried about the scars from the surgery and wore long skirts, but after she told Umi, her worries were cleared up. This series of events became the catalyst for the three childhood friends to further deepen their bond.
All Stars
In All Stars, she appears as an idol and friend to the members of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club .
In Chapter 6 of the main story, she participated in a fashion showdown with Nijigasaki in μ's 9th match. She won by a landslide, cosplaying Honoka as a police officer and Eli as a goddess.
She also gives advice to the Aqours and Nijigasaki members about clothing and brings them homemade sweets.
In the Kanata Konoe's bond episode, when a maid cafe suddenly had a series of sick staff members, they asked Kanata for help. At first, she was only supposed to be a kitchen staff member, but she also ended up wearing a maid costume.
In the event episode, the cheesecake pot incident almost happens again.
Etymology
Trivia
Her fans affectionately call her Kotori-chan, but she is also referred to as 'Chun Chun' or 'Kotori Chun,' derived from her bird-like name and voice. She is sometimes represented with the emoticon '(・8・).' Recently, due to a meme trend featuring Keisuke Honda, some fans have taken to calling her 'Taso.'
The '(・8・)' tag is often used alongside these names.
Kotori does not have a dedicated cheer call for live performances.
Unlike the other eight members, she makes comments tailored to each performance day.
For the final live, a special cheer call was created just for that day: 'Kotori’s… going to make you her snack~!? (→Audience response).'
