Hikaru Amakusa is one of the main characters in Love Live! School Idol Musical. She is a second year member of the Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image colour is Evergreen.[1]
Background
Hikaru is very athletic and was a member of the basketball club before also joining the idol club at Tsubakisakuhana. Hikaru's high stamina helps her with her idol activities.
She’s classmates with Rurika Tsubaki and Maya Mikasa.
Personality
Hikaru is straightforward and bold, often able to assess situations objectively. She usually plays the straight man in the group, especially in contrast to Maya and Rurika.
She’s often seen rushing from one place to another, juggling a tight schedule filled with meetings, training sessions, and other responsibilities. Thanks to her direct personality, she was also the first to suggest that her friends try becoming idols.
Hikaru doesn't sweat the details and hates bugs.
Appearence
Hikaru has long dark blue hair that she ties into a high ponytail and dark purple eyes. She has a slight cat mouth and is usually seen wearing a watch.
Etymology
- The name Hikaru (ヒカル) is written in katakana, therefore it has no set meaning. Her name may mean "light, shine, glow" (光).
- Hikaru's surname Amakusa means "heaven, sky" (天) (Ama) and "grass" (草) (Kusa).
Trivia
- In the TV Drama, Hikaru is seen wearing a Los Angeles Lakers backpack and sleeveless shirt during her idol training.
- She’s the only member of the idol club who also belongs to another club, the basketball club.
