Misuzu Wakatsuki is one of the main characters in Love Live! School Idol Musical. She is a second year member of the Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image colour is Indigo.[1]
Background
Misuzu is the president of Takizakura’s Performing Arts Idol Club. Although the school’s chairwoman holds high expectations for her, Misuzu was appointed to the position primarily to support Anzu Takizawa as the group’s center. Despite this, Misuzu aims for the center position at her club and is highly driven, working hard to advance her career with the goal of becoming a professional idol after graduation.
Personality
Misuzu is hardworking and assertive, unwilling to compromise, whether with herself or others. Because of this, she can be tough on her fellow club members, whom she also views as rivals.
She believes everyone deserves a fair chance to showcase their strengths, partly because she wants the same opportunity for herself. Her strong personality has previously led to clashes with Sayaka Harukaze over Sayaka’s lack of enthusiasm for group activities, and with Anzu Takizawa, because she believed her position as the group's center was achieved through nepotism, given that Anzu’s mother is the school chairwoman. However, Misuzu is now on good terms with both.
Although diligent in her studies, Misuzu struggles with numbers.
Appearence
Misuzu has dark blue shoulder-length hair that curls upwards towards the end, covering her ears completely. Her serious eyes are deep blue.
Etymology
- The name Misuzu (ミスズ) is written in katakana, therefore it has no set meaning. Her name could mean "beauty, pretty" (美) (Mi) and "bell" (鈴) (Suzu).
- Misuzu's surname Wakatsuki means "young, youthful" (若) (Waka) and "zelkova" (槻) (Tsuki), which is a japanese tree.
Trivia
- Misuzu shares an actress with Anzu Takizawa in the 2025 plays. Mizuki Saiba, who used to just play Misuzu, takes both roles at the same time alternating between Cast A and Cast B.
- Misuzu shares similarities with the members of A-RISE!, as she also aims to pursue a career in the entertainment industry after graduating.
