Background

QU4RTZ debuted in season 2 of the Nijigasaki anime. The unit was formed for the 2nd School Idol Festival, with the four members wanting to convey their feelings to Lanzhu Zhong in hopes that she would join Nijigasaki's idol club.

Etymology

The name QU4RTZ was chosen by staff from fan submissions. Other names that were submitted for the group include "PomPon" and "Q-PIDs".
