QU4RTZ is a unit from the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, consisting of Kasumi Nakasu, Kanata Konoe, Emma Verde, and Rina Tennoji. They debuted in February 2020 with the single Sing & Smile!!.

Background
In the game continuity, QU4RTZ forms at Kaoruko Mifune's training camp after the group is inspired by DiverDiva's performance. Emma proposes the unit to the other three as a way to show their fans the charm of school idols without competition.[1]
In the anime continuity, the unit was formed before DiverDiva for the 2nd School Idol Festival. The four members team up to convey their feelings to Lanzhu Zhong in hopes that she would join Nijigasaki's idol club.[2]
Etymology
The name QU4RTZ was chosen by staff from fan submissions. Other names that were submitted for the group include "PomPon" and "Q-PIDs".
