Anzu Takizawa is one of the main characters in Love Live! School Idol Musical. She is a second year member of the Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image colour is Crimson Red.[1]
Background
At the start of her second year of high school, before the merger with Tsubakisakuhana Girls' High School, Anzu attended Takizakura Girls' Academy, a school renowned for its arts program, which emphasizes brand recognition to attract students. The school was run by its chairwoman, Kyoka Takizawa, who is also Anzu’s mother. As the center and leader of the idol club, Anzu is held to high expectations, especially with the club being extremely popular and on the verge of a professional debut.
As a child, she loved singing for her mother because it made her smile. But as the years went by, she noticed that smile appearing less and less.
Personality
Anzu is typically calm and composed, with a strong sense of responsibility and justice that helps keep the other members grounded during high pressure situations.
Although she’s caring toward those around her, she often neglects her own feelings, sometimes to the point of being overwhelmed by the weight of expectations.
Appearence
Anzu has shoulder length desaturated red hair that she ties into a half ponytail with a white circular hair accessory. Her serene eyes are gold.
Etymology
- The name Anzu (アンズ) means "apricot".
- Anzu's surname Takizawa means "waterfall" (滝) (Taki) and "stream" (沢) (Zawa).
Trivia
- Along with Rurika Tsubaki, she is the fourth character whose mother is the director of the school she currently attends. The previous characters in order are Kotori Minami, Lanzhu Zhong, and Ren Hazuki.
- Anzu shares one of her actresses with Misuzu Wakatsuki in the 2025 stage plays. Mizuki Saiba, who used to just play Misuzu in all previous plays, takes both roles at the same time alternating between Cast A and Cast B.
- She is the first character to transfer schools twice (or three times, if the school merger is included):
- Initially, when she transferred from Takizakura to the academically focused Tsubakisakuhana.
- Then, when she returned to Takizakura after learning about her mother's health issues.
- Finally, following the merger of both schools, which could be considered a third transfer, as it resulted in a newly formed school.
